Like a Tangerine Next to an Orange

Tangerine, Oranges, Blog Post, Illustrator, Authors, Same, AI VS ARTIST

Why Investing in a Children’s Book Artist Matters

Sometimes two things can look almost the same but feel completely different. Tangerines and oranges sit side by side, both bright, both sweet. But if your heart longs for an orange, would you truly be satisfied with a tangerine? That’s what I see happening in the world of art today.

Technology is fast, and AI images are everywhere beautiful at first glance, polished, and perfect.
But when you look closer, something’s missing. The heartbeat. The story. The love behind the lines.

Art made without a heart may look real but it doesn’t feel real.
And that’s what truly matters when we’re creating for children.

Why I Believe in the Magic of a Children’s Book

There’s something timeless about a children’s book. It’s more than a story it’s a feeling, a memory in the making. It’s the first spark of wonder that lights up a child’s imagination.Behind every story that stays in our hearts, there’s an illustrator who gives it a face, a color, a heartbeat. Illustrators turn words into worlds.

As Beatrix Potter once said,

“There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story.
You never quite know where they'll take you.”

For me, as an illustrator, those words are the beginning of a shared dream your dream and mine, coming to life together.

Why an Illustrators Matter

A children’s book is not made of words alone, it’s made of feelings.
The right illustrator doesn’t just decorate the pages; they bring warmth, emotion, and meaning that words alone can’t express.

When a child opens a book, they don’t just read they see, they feel, they remember.
Sometimes it’s the smile of a little bear, the shade of a tree, or the color of the sky that stays with them forever.

That’s why it hurts to see the world rushing toward shortcuts.
Because I believe stories deserve the patience of a human hand.

As I, Laxmi Prasad always say,

“Working on a children’s book is like tending to a garden. You nurture it with care, patience, and love, hoping it will grow into something beautiful, something that inspires and carries a touch of magic. Every little idea is a seed, every drawing a bloom waiting to come alive.”

Why Working with Me Feels Different

When you work with me, you’re not just hiring someone to draw. You’re finding a partner who believes in your story. I listen. I imagine. I feel your story as my own. I don’t just create pictures; I create moments that make people feel something deep inside.

R.K. Narayan once said,

“The writer has to be true to his inner voice.”

That truth guides me too. Every stroke I make comes from love, patience, and imagination. Every story, no matter how small ..deserves to be treated as something sacred. Something that matters.

Made with Heart, Not Just Hands

My work isn’t rushed. It isn’t copied. It’s created slowly, thoughtfully, lovingly. Because stories made with heart deserve art made with heart. Every child who opens a book should feel something real, warmth, joy, & wonder. And that’s what I hope my art brings.

A Book That Becomes a Memory

When you choose to work with me, you’re not just making a book you’re creating a memory. A story that will live in someone’s childhood long after the pages fade. The magic of a children’s book isn’t only in how it looks it’s in how it feelsIt’s the laughter at bedtime. The comfort on a rainy afternoon.
The dream that lingers for years.

As Beatrix Potter once said,

“Thank goodness I was never sent to school; It would have rubbed off some of the originality.”

Maybe that’s what real art is staying original, staying human, staying full of heart.

A Note from My Heart to Yours

To every author, dreamer, and storyteller reading this, if you believe that stories deserve love, that art should come from the heart, and that children deserve to see illustrations full of soul and care then I would be honored to bring your story to life.

Together, we can create something beautiful. Something true. Something that lasts.
